Hal Anderson
Recently, SmartShape welcomed a new patient, Hal Anderson, a Winnipeg radio personality on 94.3 The Drive and a columnist for MyToba.ca, Manitoba’s one-stop shop for grassroots news, sports and entertainment. Hal has been posting about his recent Gastric Sleeve surgery, and is happy to share his story about his weight loss journey with our readers:
July 25th post – I’ll be honest with you, it’s been tough coming up with more than one thought this week because all I’ve been thinking about is the surgery I’m about to have. I’ve battled my weight since I was a kid and I’ve decided it’s time for action. My weight has been up and down and mostly up again for several years now. Up until a few years ago, my weight was mostly just an inconvenience. But now, it’s starting to affect my health. And I want to be around for a while.
Aug 2nd post – If you missed my column last week, I was on my way to Toronto for Gastric Sleeve surgery. I’m happy to report the surgery went well and I’m back home now. I’d like to thank SmartShape’s Surgeon and everyone at SmartShape Weight Loss Centre. I especially enjoyed the company and care of nurse Maria! She was definitely the comic relief, teasing me with a Tim Hortons coffee when I first met her and cheering me on as I took my first steps after the surgery. As my friend Charles Adler said on Twitter, this is a new lease on life for me and I intend to make the most of it.
Aug 8th post – Day 12 after my Gastric Sleeve surgery – so far, everything’s going well and I’m down another 13 pounds since the surgery. A lot of people have asked me why I went to SmartShape in Toronto. Two reasons: my BMI was a bit too high for doctors here. And after researching my options, I felt SmartShape’s Surgeon was the best out there.
