How Does the Mini Gastric Bypass Work?
It is performed laparoscopically, which means small incisions are made in the abdomen and surgical tools equipped with tiny cameras are used to perform the surgery through the incisions. These small incisions ensure minimal scarring and a faster recovery. The mini gastric bypass works in two ways:
- It reduces the size of your stomach by creating a smaller stomach “pouch” that bypasses a large portion of your stomach. As you eat, the small pouch of stomach fills and sends signals to the brain that you feel satisfied and comfortable with smaller portions of food.
