Lap-Band Success

Lap-Band success will be different for most people. We often talk to our clients about non-scale victories, such as:

  • check
        Health improvements

        Improved mobility

        Increased confidence

      Increased quality of life
  • check
        Improved sleep

        Improved appearance

      Increased energy levels

It is possible for you to achieve these victories with the Lap-Band. Studies have shown that after Lap-Band® surgery patients are able to achieve and maintain a weight loss of 50% to 70% of excess body weight. Our goal is that you lose 1 – 2 pounds per week. That’s about 50 – 75 pounds in one year!

It is important for you to have your own definition of success. The SmartShape weight loss coaches will work closely with you to help you set and achieve your weight loss goals. Remember that success is defined by improvements in how you look, in how you feel and in your health.

Lap-Band Success Rates are High

The majority of patients who have the Lap-Band procedure at SmartShape™ are successful in achieving significant, sustained weight loss. Studies1 show that weight loss with Lap-Band surgery is sustainable and it is unusual for these patients to regain the weight they have lost.

Achieve Lap-Band Success!

Have your Lap-Band adjusted whenever you need to!!

Adjustments are very important in order to maximize Lap-Band success. The number and timing of adjustments is individualized to you and your progress. Lap-Band adjustments are done by our SmartShape nurses at our three locations or with one of our SmartShape affiliate healthcare professionals across Canada. In addition, our SmartShape staff can assist with access to other Lap-Band clinics around the world. If you are interested to learn more about Lap-Band adjustments, click here.
