Patient EligibilityGroups which are most likely to benefit from the Gastric Balloon are:
- Patients with BMI of 27-35, with or without comorbidities who have achieved little or no sustained weight loss through dietary and/or other approaches
- Patients with BMI of 35-40 without comorbidities who refuse bariatric surgery or would benefit from a 'bridge' to bariatric surgery, while considering their options
- Patients who need cardiovascular, orthopaedic or other surgery but whose excessive weight puts them at risk and/or reduces their likelihood of a good outcome
