Gastric Balloon Procedure
The Ideal Patient
- Female, aged 18-40 years, or male aged 18-50 years, with a BMI of 27-35
- Individuals who have had a normal weight during at least part of their adult life and may have experienced weight gain as a response to physical illness or an emotional event.
- Well motivated individual who has failed traditional diet and exercise programs
- Realistic expectations of what can be achieved
Clinical experience has shown that patients with these characteristics achieve the best results in terms of weight loss during treatment and maintenance of weight loss after their balloon is removed.
