Gastric Balloon Procedure
Patient Management Post-Placement
Patients spend a minimum of 2 hours at the clinic after their Gastric Balloon procedure, and must be accompanied by a responsible adult when they leave. They will be given emergency contact telephone numbers and will receive regular phone calls from out team until the early symptoms have resolved.
Patients have regular contact with the team throughout the time that their Gastric Balloon is in place. In the first few days after placement patients will usually be contacted by phone daily until the early post operative symptoms have resolved. We then encourage monthly follow-up with the dietitian to check on their progress.
