Assessing obesity in your practice
Two key factors can be used to assess the degree of obesity and the risk of comorbidities related to obesity6:
Obesity often leads to comorbid conditions such as Diabetes Type 2 and hypertension.7
- 80% of individuals with Diabetes Type 2 are obese
- Decreased insulin sensitivity and central obesity are associated with systemic hypertension
