Welcome to the Message Forum of the Surgical Weight Loss Centre. We have set up this forum to promote interactive discussion between patients who have had Lap-Band surgery or the gastric balloon procedure, at the Surgical Weight Loss Centre and others who may be considering either procedure at the clinic. We hope you will find valuable information as well as the ability to post messages and questions to other members of the weight loss community.

This Support Forum has been set-up for the purpose of facilitating open, supportive and educational communication amongst the members of the forum. The content of the communication is monitored for inappropriate and offensive comments, but otherwise is not reviewed for accuracy or in any way edited.

Parts of this forum are open for all to view. Other parts require that you register in order to read and post messages. In addition there is a private discussion forum for each procedure that is moderated by a patient. These areas are open to all patients (or their relatives) who have had Lap Band surgery or the gastric balloon, and to individuals who have booked their surgery or procedure with the Surgical Weight Loss Centre. This part of the forum is restricted to patients (and families) and is not accessed by any physicians or staff of the Surgical Weight Loss Centre. Please look at the General Discussion sections to get further information.

We want this to be a valuable resource for all patients who are interested in our clinic or who have had Lap-Band surgery or the gastric balloon procedure. We will post updates and information from the clinic as they become available. We encourage anyone interested to submit questions, comments or other information for posting to the Forum. If you have any questions or comments on how we can improve this Message Forum, please do not hesitate to forward it on to the clinic or to the Administrator (admin@obesitysurgery.ca) of the site.

Please do not post any questions that may deal with an urgent medical problem on this forum. Please direct all such concerns to the clinic or to the afterhours on call physician.
